Do stop by Beverly's and have some fun and make some friends @ How Sweet The Sound
for this weeks Beautiful PINK Saturday when its all about Christmas Tunes!!!
You are all such Sweet Friends and Sisters to me,, I just know in my heart of hearts that, Our Father in Heaven sends you my way because you are all soooooo HEAVENLY and You make the Christmas Spirit come alive all the MORE too !!!
This is or was a silly moment of mine, just wanted to share with you an image of our front yard light disply but,,,no,, BUT I was too cold to go out side in the below zero temps to take the pic so I snapped it from our picture window in the living room
if you look closely you may be able to see our Cross that Siuper~Hubb's added to our ALWAYS out there landscaping last Easter time..
Well, this year he did the Cross up with red and white lights for Christ's
Purity and Love, we use red and white every year on our front trees too...
We had a touch of snow yesterday and the glare on our window is a bit bad even with the flash off...
Can you see where the Cross is??? I hope so Sister's..
Anyhoo's~~~On with the favotites in Christmas Music~~~It's a must that I kick it off with "Bing Crosby"
Thanks to Mom, all of my favorite music for the Christmas Season is from this era...
And God sooooo blessed me also with this fact, when my Super~Hubb's sings to me, WOW,he sounds sooooo much like "Bing or Perry Como", he's up next...
About a year before my Dad passed away (1984)he made for me a cassett tape .. One side had Bing, the other had Perry....I still have it and we listen to it in the van on our travels.
It has a skip in one of Bing's songs that was on the album my Daddy used to make the recording...Awwwww the memories,,, cozy and comfy memories they are ...
Dad also made one of Kenny Rogers too. It was sooooo good :0)
Since I was a child, "Judy Garland" was and still is one of my favorites!!!
Not sure about any of You Sweet Sister's but I LOVE to hear "Nat King Cole" and
"Dean Martin" too,,,they had some really dreamy voices. Mom loved Nat King Cole and Dad really enjoyed Dean...
And not just there Christmas songs either.
"The Andrew Sisters" These Ladies sure added lots of FUN to many many tunes back in this era too.
And of course "Brenda Lee", WOW !!!
"Andy Williams" was pretty special himself.
Of course now there are some really Blessed newer Music Artists of late. Like
"Celene Deon" and "Whittney Huston"...
But, the one that soooo amazes me now though is "Susan Boyle" WOW,,, sooooo blessed with a awesome gift from Our LORD, don't you think????
That will do for this post and I will be sooooo excited to hop around to many of yours on Saturday Ladies...Thanks for looking and for all your heartwarming comments. I'm off to get ready for our movie night in a bit.
Tonight its Elf or Polar Express... I pray Sweet Sisters that you get some cozy time in before this Christmas Season of our LORD passes all to quickly.
Of course there is always an old favorite like, "The Ten Commandments" and "Harvey" with Jimmy Stewart to watch during Eaaster......
Sooooo til next time ~~~
And Blessings from God above~~~Dena
Have a very MERRY and BLESSED CHRISTmas....we have many things to be thankful for...I just feel overwhelmed with Gods goodness and grace...
ReplyDeleteA lovely post - I really enjoyed seeing all those album covers!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally with you on the songs - I put a Mixpod on my blog (only plays if you click on it, so you don't get blasted with sound or a slowed screen) and I'm pretty sure I have a lot of those on it. Plus a very wintry background which matches the view outside the windows as I type (11.07 Saturday morning in the UK) where it's now snowing HARD.
Happy Pink Saturday!
Happy pink saturday!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was a wonderful walk down memory lane. There are many beautiful voices out there today, among our young, but they don't seem to find the songs that will be a compliment to their voices. We not only had the singers in "my day"...lol...but also the song writers. Happy Pink Saturday.
ReplyDeleteHey Dena,
ReplyDeleteYou've listed many of the ones I enjoy. I like Susan Boyle also.
Christmas blessings to you, Kent and your family! Hugs!
The cross looks wonderful in your yard. Isn't that the best list of Christmas music ever!!!
ReplyDeleteI do love all of them and remember them well.
Wishing you a Merry CHRISTmas!
