Do stop by Beverly's and have some fun and make some friends @ How Sweet The Sound
for this weeks Beautiful PINK Saturday!!!
This Saturday's PINK is to celebrate Christmas Holiday Recipes~~~
You are all such Sweet Friends and Sisters to me,, I just know in my heart of hearts that, Our Father in Heaven sends you my way because you are all soooooo HEAVENLY !!!

Swedish Tea Rings and WOW,, its PINK too!!! Although this one is all deced up in PINK Icing too Beverly~~~~ It wasn't made by Mom, I just found it in honor of PINK Day.

Hey Sisters, this is not one of my strong areas, posting recipes, but I prayerfully did it all OK for those who may want to try there hand at baking one of these special treats for there Family and Friends this Christmas Season.

I have many, many, a memory but, no photo's to show off of my Mom's Swedish Tea Ring and it seems she always picked the most hectic time of year to make hers too.
Just as it is now for all of us when we try to do so much more baking ourselves
Her Swedish Tea Ring was just beautiful and tasty too....

This photo above is just like Mom's looked when it was all baked and the extra loving touches were added.

This is Beautiful Mom, all 81 years of her now

Wish I had my Mom's recipe but I'm quite sure hers was similar.. They are a rather time consuming desert or breakfast treat, but of course if you are blessed with time to create such a beautiful scrumptious delicacy ,,you'll find they are well worth the effort..
Just as God intended I believe :0)

Ingredients
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
1 lemon, juiced and zested
1 cup milk
1/2 cup margarine, softened
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs, beaten
4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 cup white sugar
3/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup confectioners' sugar

Directions
1.In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in the warm water and let stand until creamy, about 15 minutes. Zest and juice the lemon; set juice aside for later use.
2.In a large mixing bowl, combine the yeast mixture, milk, butter, salt, sugar, eggs, lemon zest and 2 cups of the flour. Stir until smooth and well combined. Mix in the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, stirring well after each addition. When the dough has come together, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and satiny; about 8 minutes.

Lightly oil a large bowl, place the dough in the bowl and turn to coat with oil. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place until doubled in volume; about 1 hour.

3.Punch down the dough and turn out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll the dough out into a rectangle approximately 12x24 inches. In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon, 1/4 cup sugar and pecans; spread this mixture evenly across the dough. Roll the dough into a long roll and press the seam closed. With the seam turned downward, seal the two ends together to make a ring. Use a little water to help you seal the ends.

4.Place the ring on a lightly greased cookie pan. Using a sharp knife or kitchen shears, make cuts every inch or so along the ring, cutting only three quarters of the way through. Twist each piece slightly so that the rolls fan out from the center of the ring. Cover the roll with a damp towel and let rise in a warm place until nearly doubled in volume, about 1 hour. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees F).
5.Bake the tea ring at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden. Remove the ring from the oven, place on a rack to cool.
6.Place the lemon juice in a small bowl along with the vanilla. Add 1/4 cup of powdered sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Continue adding powdered sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the mixture is fairly thick but still pourable. Drizzle the lemon-sugar topping over the ring.

These are truly works of art aren't they Girls...Sadly I've never taken the task upon myself to create..But God sure blessed a few special people like Mom to be able to.. Thankfully..

"ENJOY"
