~~~MY WONDERFUL BLOGGING GIRLFRIENDS ARE~~~GOD's SPECIAL BLESSINGS~~~I TREASURE YOU WITHOUT MEASURE :0) ~~~
And that's something to really cluck about!!!
THANKS for sharing your day with me, I do treasure all of you, you all have added to my everyday in a very inspiring and delightful way!!!
These 2 have no names, they were created way before I started naming them.
The 2 above designs I did quite a few years ago,,can ya tell????
The pigs are usually a big hit???? WHY???? Any way Ladies, could you please help me out and share with me how your days are going, is any one taking up a new craft, have any of you been frustrated by your teens??? We have 3 teen boys as seen in some of the snaps below...Need I say more!!!
Try as we may to live by God's rules in this house and, well, there is always at least 1 of them that just doesn't see it God's way at least 1 time a day along the way. Just the other night it was with our 17 yr old~ Jacob " Cell phone, TEXTING rules and what not to do's on them"... and him saying, "Well I think that's dumb, its just stupid"!!! And, I can't leave this out of course, the ever famous,
"Go ahead, you wanna know what I'll do then, I can't wait til I move out on my own, as soon as I am 18" !!! Which of course makes me sad,,so I let Dad handle it for the most part at that point.
Naturally, by 11pm that night he came out and agreed, "OK", and you all know why I imagine, that's right,,he wanted his cell phone back. Being that we pay the bill, we also have control over how and when it is shut off, Mean huh???
Really, this has nothing to do with the piggy's above but it does with the scripture I am leaving you with, its soooo amazing how God just worked that out for me... Please share your thoughts, hopes, dreams and any much needed advice ;0)
  1. My children frustrate me too some days. They make bad choices...but so do I. It is not easy being a parent...but it is a gift. You are doing great. When my kids disobey or make bad choices we have started using scripture to bring them back in. We show them in scripture what happens when you disobey or whatever offense it was because their is a scripture for everything...then we have them write it and memorize it. It is working well.
    They do know Ephesian 6:1 by heart:)
    Loved your drawings. Thanks for sharing.
  3. TRAIN UP A CHILD IN THE DIRECTION HE SHOULD GO AND WHEN THEIR OLD THEY WILL NOT DEPART.
    WHEN MY SON ONLY WENT TO TWO YEARS OF COLLEGE AND HE WANTED TO MOVE OUT ON HIS OWN, WE SET DOWN AND GAVE HIM A BUDGET OF WHAT HE COULD EXPECT TO PAY....HE CHANGED HIS MIND...HE WENT TO WORK AND LIVED AT HOME, SAVING HIS MONEY.
    CHILDREN...THEY ARE PRICELESS.
  5. I love the chicken. I have wanted live chickens for a long time. I just don't want to have something else to take care of right now!!
    Teens are hard! They really do not always think clearly, and it's easy for all of us really to want what we want when we want it.
    Though rules are important to have and follow, I am finding it's more about the heart. Learning to do things out of love, not just obedience and that comes with age, growth, maturity.
    I have this picture of a baby in a playpen for their protection. As they grow they can be taken out with supervision. Then less and less, but there are still boundaries. As they grow they are given more freedom.
    I fear sometimes I need to be put back in the playpen!!!! :) :)
    I am still learning!!!!
    Hugs!!
    Thanks for the verse, so true. Sometimes it is just hard to comprehend when we are going through rough patches.
  7. Hi Dena
    Thank goodness that both of my children are adults and have their own children, because now they can see for themselves just how difficult it can be to guide and advise their own children. My children have said to me on many occasions "how did you manage it" that is when they begin to appreciate just how hard it is to bring up children of their own.
    I love it when I catch them saying to their own children the same things that I taught them, I feel a real sense of pride that they think I did a great job. When they don't know how to deal with a situation I get the phone call for advice. So never feel frustrated that it isn't going in, as I think that it is only when they have their own children that you will see for yourself that they look back on their own childhood and what you did to solve the problem, it is amazing watching it happen. So take comfort in the fact that it will all work out eventually. God will guide you and give you the strength day by day.
    Have you ever noticed that the teens play up more with you compared to their father, they just know what buttons to press with their mother and know they will not get away with it with their father. I feel a good strong father influence is very important during the teen years as they are going through so many changes that sometimes they cannot even keep up with themselves. You are doing a great job with them, keep it up, and God Bless you my dear friend.
    Kind Regards
    Suzanne
